Privacy Policy

None of your data leaves your browser. RouteGuard has no server, no analytics and no tracking.
RouteGuard is a Chrome extension that limits Instagram on the web to its direct messages. This page explains exactly what happens to your data.
What RouteGuard stores
To work, RouteGuard keeps the following in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device:
- Your settings: whether the guard is on, the wait and access timings, the pages you allow, and where redirects send you
- The length of your next wait and the time you last went through one
- How many times you went in today, and for how long
- The last three reasons you typed into the wait screen
That's everything. RouteGuard doesn't read your messages, the content of Instagram pages, your login details, or your activity on any other website. It only looks at the path of the instagram.com page you're on (for example /explore/) to decide whether to let it load.
What RouteGuard sends
Nothing. RouteGuard has no server, makes no network requests of its own, and includes no analytics, telemetry, advertising or third-party code. Your data isn't sold, shared or transferred to anyone, because it never leaves your device.
Deleting your data
Removing RouteGuard from Chrome deletes everything it stored. Your data isn't kept anywhere else.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date. Any change that involves sending data off your device would be announced before it takes effect.
